What is a POI?
A POI describes additional information that is referenced to the model or it is a point in space. POI´s can be organized in Layers.
A POI can be a label, but can also contain data like
- Photos
- Doc / docx
What is a POI Layer?
A POI Layer manages a group of POIs in a flat hierarchy.
You can mix different kinds of data in one layer, or you can organize them in different ones.

How to create a POI Layer?
- If no
POI Layerexists in the project, a layer will be created after placing the firstPOI
How to select or create a new POI Layer?
Within the POI menu, you have the option of creating a new Layer or selecting an existing Layer.
- Open the pull-down menu under
Save POI to - Select a
Layerfrom the list - The POI will be stored in the selected
Layer
or
- Enter the desired
Layername - Press the blue
“+"button - The POI will be stored in the new
Layer
How to show or hide a POI Layer?
- Hover the mouse cursor over the desired layer. An icon with an
Eyeappears on the right side. Click on that icon with theLeft-Mouse-Button
- Click the
Right-Mouse-Buttonon thePOI Layer - Now you can see the individual
POIswithin this layer - To show or hide an individual

How to add a POI?
Option 1
Long-Right-Mouse-Buttonwhere the POI should be placed
- Enter a
Label(this is shown within the3D Viewer) - Select the desired
Layerfrom the list in which the POI is to be stored - Press the
Savebutton

Drag and Dropuploaded files like photos or documents from theNavigation Paneinto thePoint CloudorModel- Press the
Savebutton
How to change the position of a POI?
Option 1
- Select the
POIyou want to move in the model withLong-Left-Mouse-Button - The
Edit POImenu appears - Hold down the
Left-Mouse-Buttonon thePOIto move
Option 2
- Select the
POIyou want to move in the model with theLong-Left-Mouse-Button - The
Edit POImenu appears - By clicking on the
Pencilnext toPosition, the X Y Z coordinates can be edited - You can change the coordinates of the
POImanually by entering via the number pad
or
- Hoover over one of the coordinates and turn the mouse wheel
- Mousewheel = 1 cm
- Shift + Mousewheel = 1 mm
- CRTL + Mousewheel = 10 cm
How to add further data to a POI?
- Select the
POIyou want to add further data with theLong-Left-Mouse-Button - Press the
Add images/docs...button - Select photo or document
- Select the photos you want to add by hoovering over the data and click on the blue tick
- Press the
Confirmbutton - Press the
Savebutton
How to remove a POI?
- Select the
POIyou want to remove with theRight-Mouse-Button - Press the
Deletebutton on your Keyboard
