What is a layer?

A Layer manages a group of Measurements or POIs in a flat hierarchy

You can create the following Layers:

  • Measurement Layer
  • POI Layer

Measurements or POIs can be combined in one Layer. An example is the combination of Area Measurements of an apartment, a floor, or a whole residential complex. This also applies to Line or Volume Measurements.

Measurement Layer

A Measurement Layer manages a group of Measurements in a flat hierarchy.

You can mix all sorts of measurements in one layer, or you can organize them in different ones.

How to create a Measurement Layer?

  • Create a Measurement
  • Press the Finish button
  • If no Measurement Layer exists in the project, a layer will be created after the first measurement is completed and stored.

How to store a Measurement?

After the measurement has been finished, a number (number of measurements not yet saved) appears next to the measurement symbol at the top left corner.

  • Open the Measurement
  • Click on the red dialog
  • A popup appears, select Save changes to store the measurements

How to store a Measurement in an already existing or new Layer?

Within a measurement, you have the option of creating a new Layer or selecting an existing Layer.

  • Open the pull-down menu under Measurement Layer
  • Select a Layer from the list
  • The measurement will be stored in the selected Layer

or

  • Enter the desired Layer name
  • Press the blue “+" button
  • The measurement will be stored in the new Layer

How to rename a Measurement Layer?

  • Click the Right-Mouse-Button on the Measurement Layer
  • In the Context Menu select the Rename entry
  • Rename the Layer

How to show or hide a Measurement Layer?

  • Hover the mouse cursor over the desired Layer. An icon with an Eye appears on the right side. Click on that icon with the Left-Mouse-Button.

How to show all measurements in a Measurement Layer within the Navigation Pane?

  • Click the Right-Mouse-Button on the Measurement Layer
  • Now you can see the individual measurements within this layer
  • To show or hide an individual measurement, hover the mouse cursor over the desired measurement. An icon with an Eye appears on the right side. Click on that icon with the Left-Mouse-Button.

How to move a measurement from one Layer to another?

  • Select the measurement you want to move
  • Drag and Drop the desired measurement to the other Layer

or

  • Go into Edit mode
  • Select the measurement you want to move to another Layer
  • Select the desired Layer
  • Finish and store the measurement

POI Layer

A POI Layer manages a group of POIs in a flat hierarchy.

You can mix different kinds of data in one layer, or you can organize them in different ones.

How to create a POI Layer?

  • If no POI Layer exists in the project, a layer will be created after placing the first POI

How to select or create a new POI Layer?

Within the POI menu, you have the option of creating a new Layer or selecting an existing Layer.

  • Open the pull-down menu under Save POI to
  • Select a Layer from the list
  • The POI will be stored in the selected Layer

or

  • Enter the desired Layer name

  • The POI will be stored in the new Layer
