General

You can switch between normal view and cutaway view using the button located in the top-right corner.

What is the difference between Normal view and Cutaway view?

  • In the Normal view, the camera rotation center is positioned between the near and far planes.
  • In the Cutaway view, the camera rotation center remains aligned with the near plane at all times.

What are the near and far planes?

The near and far planes define the depth range that you want to be visible in your scene. Everything you see in your scene falls within this depth range.

The near plane determines the minimum depth that is displayed, while the far plane represents the maximum depth that you'll see in your scene.


Normal View

The normal view is the default way of moving around in 3D models.

  • The center of rotation is indicated by crosshairs
  • Rotating the camera is accomplished by holding down the left-mouse-button

Cutaway View

The Cutaway View is an innovative viewing mode. It is a kind of Clipping Box view.

With this view mode, you can easily move the Near and Far Plane. It is ideal for moving quickly in buildings and creating sections.

How to move the Near and Far Plane at the same time?

  • Hold down the Middle-Mouse-Button
  • Move the mouse up and down

How to move the Far Plane?

  • Press and hold the CTRL key
  • Hold down the Middle-Mouse-Button
  • Move the mouse up and down
