What is the Modification tool?
Modification tool Application
Step 1: Source Selection
- Click on the wrench icon to access the modification tool
- Select one or multiple point clouds you wish to align (choose a primary point cloud, either dedicated or georeferenced, to serve as the anchor for aligning all other point clouds)
- Click “Next” or click on “Point Selection” to proceed with the next step


Step 2: Point Selection
Select the desired tool for point selection from the available options.
- None (Rotation)
- Box Selection; left-click + hold and drag mouse across the screen in desired area
- Polygon Selection; left-click to select multiple points on point cloud for the desired area – close or finish Polygon by clicking on the first point again
- Lasso Selection; left-click + hold and drag mouse to enclose the desired area
- Click on the Reset icon in Selected Points Action to revert and undo previous selections.
- Click on “Next” or “Align” to proceed with Step 3

Step 3: Align
The Alignment mode serves to align the point clouds either on the horizontal plane or on the vertical plane.
- Horizontal Plane; Top view/ plan view alignment
- Vertical Plane; Front view / elevation view alignment
The Camera Control mode facilitates viewing from various angles and perspectives.
- Top View
- Front View
- Bottom View
- Rotate 90° to the left
- Rotate 90° to the right
- Move artifacts to visible area; applicable when the point cloud is not georeferenced, and the specific location of the point cloud is irrelevant
- Move camera to artifacts; when the point cloud is georeferenced, and the specific location of the point cloud is relevant
Navigation to align the point clouds:
Use Cutaway View to eliminate points from the displayed area, enhancing precision and providing a clearer floor plan view.
- Click on the "Cutaway View" icon in the top right corner
- Click Scroll-Wheel and move mouse up and down: eliminate points from top
- STRG (CTRL) + Click the scroll-wheel and move mouse up and down; eliminating points from bottom
Horizontal Plane + Top View
- Left-click and drag the mouse up and down; rotate around its center, marked by the crosshair.
- Right-click and move mouse; shift the entire point cloud to the desired location
- Scroll-Wheel; to zoom in and out
- STRG (CTRL) + right-click; to navigate around in the plane
- Utilize the arrow keys on your keyboard for precise and incremental movements, especially when requiring small adjustments
Vertical Plane + Front View:
- Left-click and move mouse up and down: to horizontally rotate the point cloud, center is indicated by the crosshair
- Right-click and move mouse up and down; to vertically move point cloud up and down
- Proceed to the Analysis section by clicking on "Next" or selecting "Analysis”

Step 4: Analysis
This section functions as a tool for comparing alignment steps and for undoing and redoing actions.
- To complete the alignment, click "Save" or alternatively, use the trash bin icon to delete the entire alignment
