What is a Layer?

A Layer manages a group of Measurements or POIs in a flat hierarchy.

You can create the following Layers:

Measurement Layer

A Measurement Layer organizes a group of measurements in a straightforward hierarchy.

You can include various types of measurements within a single layer or organize them into separate ones.

Click here to learn more about Measurements.

How to create a measurement layer?

  • Create your measurement as described in the Measurement section
  • Name the measurement layer, or choose one from the previous ones. If there is no measurement layer in the project, one will automatically be created, once the first measurement is completed and saved.
  • Click on the "Finish" button

How to save a measurement?

After completing the measurement, a number indicating the unsaved measurements will appear next to the measurement symbol in the top left corner.

  • Open the measurement
  • Click on the red dialog
  • A popup will appear; select "Save changes" to save the measurements

How to save a measurement in an already existing or new layer?

Within a measurement, you have the option of creating a new layer or selecting an existing layer.

  • Open the pull-down menu located under Measurement Layer
  • Select a Layer from the list
  • The measurement will be saved in the selected layer

or

  • Enter the desired layer name
  • Press the blue “+" (plus) button
  • The measurement will be saved in the new layer

How to rename a measurement layer?

  • Right-click on the measurement layer
  • In the context menu select "Rename"
  • Rename the layer

How to show or hide a measurement layer?

  • Hover the mouse cursor over the desired layer. An eye icon will appear on the right side.
  • Click on this icon using the left mouse button.

How to show all measurements in a measurement layer within the navigation pane?

  • Right-click on the measurement layer
  • Now you can see the individual measurements within this layer
  • To show or hide an individual measurement, hover the mouse cursor over the desired measurement. An eye icon will appear on the right side.
  • Click on this icon using the left mouse button

How to move a measurement from one layer to another?

  • Select the measurement you want to move
  • Drag and Drop the desired measurement to the other layer

or

  • Go into edit mode
  • Select the measurement you want to move to another layer
  • Select the desired layer
  • Finish and store the measurement

Point Of Interest (POI) layer

A Point of Interest (POI) layer effectively organizes POIs within a streamlined hierarchy. You have the flexibility to combine various data types within a single layer or categorize them into separate ones.
